FRAY No. 9
FRAY No. 9 is one-of-a-kind leather wall art: three fields of hand-cut leather stacked on a solid black canvas, emerald at the top, ivory in the center, marigold at the base. Each panel is built from dozens of pieces, some smooth, some suede, some cut into fringe that moves when the air does.
Look closer and the details start to show. There’s a scale-embossed metallic leaf in the gold panel, hair-on hide flecked with gold foil in the ivory, and patent green that catches the light up top. From across the room it reads as three calm blocks of color. Up close, it’s all texture.
At four feet tall, it’s a statement piece for an entry, a stairwell or the long wall behind a sofa. It’s the ninth piece in the Fray Collection.
